Racing Victoria (RV) is one of Australia’s leading sporting organisations, established in 2001 to act as the independent governing body of thoroughbred racing in Victoria. ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

We have a rare and exciting opportunity for an accomplished Intelligence Analyst to join our Intelligence & Investigations Unit. This role is critical in ensuring the reputation of, and confidence in, Victorian racing is protected through the implementation of best practice systems and investigative techniques.

Key deliverables for this role focus on championing intelligence driven processes, on-going education and up-skilling of internal staff in best practice intelligence processes, practices and technology. This includes assuming ownership for identifying and recommending contemporary intelligence products and systems, whilst also benchmarking current practices to ensure best practice is achieved and maintained. Production and dissemination of intelligence reports that inform and support tactical, operational and strategic decision making will also be fundamental to the role. Additional responsibilities include offering strategic advice on analytical findings, assisting with the management of the intelligence database, and conducting open source research.

The role collaborates with other specialist members of the Integrity Services department in the conduct of investigations and enforcement of the Rules of Racing.

ABOUT YOU

As the successful candidate, you can effectively interact with a diverse range of key stakeholders and participants from across the racing industry in a professional manner, and can demonstrate the following:

  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of intelligence and analytical processes and practices.
  • Effective presentation and stake-holder skills, and prior success delivering value for internal clients
  • Contemporary knowledge and use of intelligence databases, analytical software and social media monitoring tools.
  • Excellent open source research skills.
  • A pro-active and self-motivated work ethic.
  • An impeccable record of integrity, tact and ability to handle highly confidential and sensitive information.
  • An awareness of sports integrity issues and associated legislation, and exposure to sports disciplinary tribunals will be a distinct advantage.
  • Relevant Tertiary and/or post-secondary qualifications will be well regarded.
